Thanksgiving Week at the Beach

This year for Thanksgiving we took a trip to Atlantic Beach in North Carolina. We stayed at a beach house with a bunch of family and in laws family and it was amazing. The house was incredible it was beautiful, huge, and located right on the beach. It was a really beautiful beach and we got lucky with some really nice warm weather and got to take the kids to play in the sand and ocean everyday. We had such a great time being with family the girls got to play with their cousins and we stayed up late playing games or watching movies. Thanksgiving Day was amazing we enjoyed a delicious meal then went and played on the beach. Can't get more perfect than that in my opinion! This was such a memorable trip I wanted to document it here to look back on. Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving vacation week at the beach!

Disney Trip Fail and Update on Us Being Sick

My next post was going to be our Disney World trip with lots of pictures documenting all the fun we had.... but we all got sick. Not just a little sick like really really sick. Kenzie ended up with bronchitis and Zoey and I had the worst head cough cold possible. I literally was getting up and getting us all ready to head out the door all packed and feeling like I was on death's door and my husband was like "no I have to put my foot down and just say we are not going." The girls and I were absolutely miserable and I still wanted to go. We started planning this trip over 7 months ago and we planned to meet up with my in laws and the girls cousins. They flew in from out of state and I was devastated we couldn't meet up with them. I felt so awful and guilty. We had the entire trip all planned with fast passes, lots of meals where the kids could meet characters, and we booked a hotel so we wouldn't have to make the drive back home; which is over an hour. We even had tickets to the Mickeys very merry christmas party which are non refundable and non transferrable. Seriously... I cried.

If it had been just me sick I would have just tried to tough it out, even though I felt awful and could hardly move with all the body aches and sinuses completed closed. The girls were miserable also and it would have been a disaster. They were constantly crying or sleeping (who could blame them I wanted to also just cry and sleep.)

We are lucky enough that we can still use our park tickets another time because we live close enough to just make the drive, but we did lose money on the hotel. We also lost the chance for the girls to make memories with their cousins which is what makes me the most sad. It is also really hard to book those meals with character meets and I have been trying to book something since with no luck.

It has been 2 weeks and I am still sick. My sinus still hurts and I am just not feeling 100%. Kenzie just finished her antibiotics and is finally not coughing anymore and I think Zoey is doing a lot better finally. I cannot believe how bad it was and how long it lasted!

I decided to book some fast passes for the next time we can all go and lucky enough my husband got a jury duty summons for that day in the mail yesterday. I have to laugh or I will just sit and cry about how bad I want to take the girls to Disney (or how bad I want to go) and haven't been able to.

We will have to make Disney plans another time because right now we are focusing on getting better before we head into Thanksgiving week. We are hoping our trip up North for Thanksgiving will be with all of us feeling back to normal again! We are so excited for our Thanksgiving plans with family and at least the girls will get to play with their cousins finally!!

Christmas Wish List by my 2 Year Old

We received our mailer from Target.. you know the one with all the toys for the kids to circle so they can start planning their Christmas Wish List for Santa. We are still hitting in the high 80's here in good ol' sunny Florida and my girls are already planning out their wish list. It is the first year my 2 and a half year old is old enough to comprehend the whole idea a little more so I thought I would test it out. I sat with her and looked through all the toys and let her use her favorite blue crayon to circle the things she would want to ask Santa for. Boy was her list hefty! I love that she is excited for Christmas, it is one of my most favorite holidays and I cannot wait to see what Santa brings them. At the top of her list is an Elsa Castle AND a Princess Castle. Hah! Here are a few of the things she is going to write to Santa to bring for her... if she is a good girl of course.

1. Dancing Barbie

3. Bright Beats Dance and Move Beatbo

What is on your littles ones wish list? I cannot wait to see what Santa brings my girls!

This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

This year Zoey knew exactly what she wanted to be for Halloween she requested to be Snow White all on her own without any prompting. I was very surprised by this because I did think she was too young, but no way she knew and stuck to that decision for two months! I even got an extra Belle costume just in case she wanted to be something else but nope she stuck to snow white for all our Halloween outings! I dressed Kenzie as Ana because they both really love the movie Frozen and Zoey was Elsa last year. And of course now we have both outfits for pretend play. Win Win.

You can't really tell by most of the pics, because Kenzie is crying in them (she is just that way sometimes), but my girls actually had a blast on Halloween. Once we were out trick or treating they had so much fun! They got to meet dinosaurs on our trick or treat adventure around our neighborhood and they were so excited! They love dinosaurs thanks to the movie The Good Dinosaur. They got there buckets filled and Zoey was seriously so happy to get all that candy! We have a tradition of going around the neighborhood with our besties that live across the street and it is always so much fun for us all.  We were very busy the entire weekend before too with going to a Halloween Festival then also going to a car show, so we are all Halloween-ed out. I had a lot of fun enjoying the festivities with the girls but I was not sad to pack up all the Halloween Decor the morning after. Until next year!
